The Department of Cardiac Surgery is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to patients with cardiac disorders that require surgery. The Department is committed to the development of new approaches and techniques offering patients the best surgical alternatives while minimizing hospital stay and health care costs. The Department provides diagnosis and treatment of a complete spectrum of acquired and congenital diseases of the heart and great vessels in adults and children.
The Department of Cardiac Surgery is active in carrying out research in the relevant field. We have presented the results in national and international conferences. The department has also initiated a training program in perfusion medicine which provides hand on training during the course of study.
Coronary revascularization – to bypass the arteries of heart that have become blocked or damaged due to disease. Revascularization procedures restore healthy blood flow to the heart.
Valve repair and replacement – to keep blood cycling through the heart rather than leaking backward or being obstructed.
Congenital heart repair – for heart disease that has been present from birth and may become life-threatening during early childhood or later in life.
Aortic aneurysm repair (ascending and descending) – to strengthen the major conduit of blood throughout the body
