Introduction:

Foundation of Radiology department can be traced back to the establishment of our reputed Organization Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center in 1995. At the start, the department was located  in main OPD block which is now in new OPD block and IPD block of the center. Being the backbone of any health care centre, the department plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac patients. In the beginning, radiology services were provided with one mobile x-ray machine and one manual processing unit ,which now boasts of all the modernized and sophisticated  radiological imaging modalities. Now, the department gives round the clock diagnostic and emergency radiologic services.

Facilities:

The department provides all kinds of general radiography, CT scanning ,USG, peripheral  angiography and interventional procedures. Our department is equipped with state of the art 640 slice CT scanner which is the only one piece available in Nepal. We have the latest CR and DR imaging systems. Very soon, we will provide MRI services with 3T CMRI system.

Mission:

The department’s mission is to provide state of art radiological services of high quality for optimum patient care and treatment.

Future Plan:

We have plans to equip our department with advanced NMIT modalities, mobile DR systems, bi-plane C-arm digital fluoroscopy system etc.
